KYSL SD23: Wes Albers, more than just a pretty face

January 28, 2009

Know Your Session Leaders ….

Wes Albers, for those who haven’t had the pleasure, is one of the friendly faces you’ll see representing the conference itself. As the Director of the Southern California Writers’ Conference, you’ll see his shy, charming grin everywhere over Presidents’ Day Weekend, but don’t forget to check out his workshops.

His career in law enforcement has led him to the respectable rank of detective sergeant in the San Diego Police Department, and aside from his various decorations and commendations for that work, he has also written source material for the U.S. Department of Justice.

Add to that Wes’ love for stories as he goes forward with Black & White, and is working on another tale of unknown title.

Wes will be presenting two workshops at SD23, “Law & Disorder: The Facts and Fallacies of Police Work” (with Richard Craig Anderson), and “Writing for Real: Shoot, Don’t Shoot“.
